HL und WW wundern mich nicht - hab ich beides erwartet. Nachdem ich nun mit Season 2 von THE PRACTICE fast durch bin, hoff ich aber stark, dass Harrys Law endlich anfängt, gut zu werden.. wenn die Serie weiterhin das Potential von Kathy Bates nicht zu handeln kann.. bin ich schneller weg als FOX Terra Nova aus dem Programm werfen kann

Bei LOLA kommt eine ganze Menge zusammen. Sicherlich hat der neue Sendeplatz nicht geholfen und die lange Pause auch nicht. Aber das ist nicht der Hauptgrund für den Misserfolg. Die Serie war einfach nichts neues. Man hat einfach den kompletten Cast vom Mutterschiff ausgetauscht inkl. der Stadt und ansonsten war alles beim alten. SVU und Criminal Intent leben davon, dass die Serien zwar in Look und Ton L&O sind, aber doch selbstständige Abläufe hat.
Das fine tuning kam zu spät und war auch nicht ausreichend. Man hat zwar ab dann Alfred Molina und Terrence Howard genutzt, aber nicht ansatzweise herausgeholt was möglich war. Deshalb funktioniert für mich auch Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior nicht. Die Serie ist dem Original zu ähnlich.

NBC has picked up Prime Suspect, the U.S. adaptation of the British miniseries to series. NBC has also picked up Steven Spielberg musical drama Smash, starring Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston to series.

NBC also picked up two sitcoms. Whitney, starring comedienne Whitney Cummings, and Up All Night starring Christina Applegate.

How many new comedy series with a female lead were picked up last May? Zero. How many have been picked up so far this season? Every single one. All four new comedy series ordered so far by Fox and NBC this season have female leads. That is how many the four broadcast networks combined have on the air this season: NBC's 30 Rock starring Tina Fey and Parks & Recreation starring Amy Poehler and ABC's The Middle starring Patricia Heaton and Cougar Town starring Courteney Cox. Half of those were created by women. All four of the newly picked series come from female creators. While not at 100%, female-centered series are also dominant on the drama side. One of the 2 new Fox dramas, Alcatraz has a female lead, Sarah Jones, and was co-written by a female writer, Liz Sarnoff. Of the two NBC drama pickups, one is the female-centered Prime Suspect starring Maria Bello and written by Alexandra Cunningham and the other, the female-skewing Smash, which has 2 leads, one played by Debra Messing. And the two locks at ABC are all about ladies (though penned by male writers), Charlie's Angels and Good Christian Bitches.

The 4 newly picked up half-hour series will probably be joined by 3-4 more for a complete domination of the freshman comedy class of 2011 the way ensemble relationship comedies were all the craze last year. What's more, it looks like as many as 3 new comedy series are two-female lead shows. Here is the list: Fox picked up The New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel and created by Liz Meriwether, and I Hate My Teenage Daughter, about 2 moms played by Jamie Pressly and Katie Finneran, written by Ellen Kreamer and Sherry Bilsing-Graham. Then NBC today picked up Up All Night starring Christina Applegate and written by Emily Spivey, and Whitney, created by and starring Whitney Cummings. Also very likely at NBC is the Chelsey Handler comedy starring Laura Prepon and written by Dottie Zicklin and Julie Larson. And the comedy frontrunners at the other two networks, CBS and ABC, are also female-centered with two female leads each, CBS' Two Broke Girls, starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs and co-written by Whitney Cummings, and Apt. 23, starring Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker and written by Nahnatchka Khan. In contrast, there is only comedy pilot with a male lead this season, ABC's Tim Allen project, that appears to be a slam-dunk, with another one, David Hornsby's male buddy comedy How To Be a Gentlemen also very likely at CBS. (Hot ABC comedy pilot Suburgatory centers on a girl and her father.)

Fox, which had done little female-centered programming outside of American Idol until Glee came around,is reportedly considering turning Tuesday and Wednesday into female-driven nights and could use the new comedies there. And for the past 2 weeks, there has been talk that NBC is mulling opening a female-skewing comedy block midweek, with The Biggest Loser and Smash among possible companions.

Pff... Hat ja bei The CW schon so grandios geklappt. Aber was solls, die beiden bisher interessantesten Drama Pick Ups - Alcatraz und Wonder Women - sind definitiv nicht für Frauen, da können sie sagen was sie wollen.

It is unclear what CHUCK's renewal bodes for NBC's other big bubble Monday show, LAW & ORDER: LA. After getting a rare second chance with a complete reboot that has largely failed, it is unclear what more NBC can do with the show. But as they say, never bet against Dick Wolf. PARENTHOOD, which has done solid business in its Tuesday 10 PM slot, is expected to return, while THE EVENT is not.

There is even talk about possibly bringing $#*! MY DAD SAYS sans star Jonathan Sadowski. Even long-forgotten legal dramedy THE DEFENDERS is not completely dead. As one insider noted, the show starring Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell did better than any other CBS series in the Friday 8 PM season this season. Things don't look good for midseason comedy MAD LOVE, though CBS brass loooove Jason Biggs, while CBS' other midseason entry, crime drama spinoff CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR, is at 50/50 as its performances has been largely disappointing given its pedigree. As for CSI: MIAMI and CSI: NY, word is that the entire CSI franchise, a big off-network and international seller, is safe for next season.

The CW:

At least two of the CW's three bubble dramas, NIKITA, ONE TREE HILL and HELLCATS, are expected to come back. Freshman NIKITA and veteran ONE TREE HILL, which have stronger ratings, are considered sure bets. Additionally, NIKITA is a big international seller for CW co-owner Warner Bros TV, it has been on a ratings upswing lately, and I hear its meeting pitching next season went well. OTH continues to be solid and may be used to launch a new series, while HELLCATS has been soft in the ratings.

ABC (gute Nachrichten für Happy Endings Fans):

ABC has a lot of bubble shows, but only a couple have a shot at returning next season. Midseason drama BODY OF PROOF and comedy HAPPY ENDINGS seem the most likely to score a renewal, with Body of Proof almost a lock as it has been the highest-rated new ABC drama this season and logged another solid showing last night. Meanwhile, Happy Endings has a lot of support within ABC. We will see this week if the comedy will get a bump from all the publicity surrounding the muted out Osama bin Laden joke last Wednesday. The other two freshman comedies awaiting their fate, BETTER WITH YOU and the Matthew Perry starrer MR. SUNSHINE are considered longer shots, while dramas DETROIT 1-8-7 and NO ORDINARY FAMILY are pretty much dead. As for V, most believe that the alien drama has no chance but it is not 100% dead.

Was will CBS denn alles senden. The Good Wife soll sehr gute Chancen haben, Blue Bloods ebenso, und jetzt auch alle 3 CSI vermutlich verlängert und als Kröhnung wird sogar The Defenders wieder ins Spiel gebracht. Wohin denn dann mit neuen Dramaserien?

Sollte NBC jetzt tatsächlich noch Chuck und Parenthood verlängern, hat man zusammen mit Community, 30 Rock und Parks And Recreation schon 5 Shows die allesamt keine hohen Quoten mehr einfahren. (so ca. 5 Millionen je Serie)

Ziemlich mutig...zumal ja auch noch fraglich ist wie sich "The Office" ohne Steve Carrell schlagen wird.


Ach NBC, ich hasse Euch immer noch für die Absetzung von "My Name Is Earl" samt Cliffhanger. (BTW: Hat schon jemand Rasing Hope diese Woche geschaut? Ich hab gedacht ich seh nicht richtig. )

Hab nicht alle bei TVBTN gelesen, aber der hier gefällt mir sehr:

Und wie auch bei TVBTN erwähnt, glaube ich ebenfalls, dass WB es irgendwie schaffen will, die "magische Zahl" von 88 Episoden zu erreichen, und NBC nochmals entgegen gekommen ist, was die Lizenzgebühren angeht.

ja natürlich werde sie das .. aber wenn NBC die Show weiterhin um 8 Uhr zeigt.. egal wo.. zerstören sie sich doch immer nen ganzen Abend - das kann doch nichtmal die vergünstigungen bei der Lizenzgebühren wert sein :?

Als ich vor einigen Wochen mal einen Schedule für alle 5 Networks getippt habe, habe ich für Freitag um 8 bei NBC wirklich nichts anderes finden können als Chuck, denn:
- eine neue Serie dort zu starten wäre idiotisch
- keine aktuelle Serie neben Chuck könnte ich mir dort vorstellen
- und mit einer billigen Reality sind sie diesen Herbst bereits kräftig auf die Nase gefallen in diesem Slot.

Sprich alles andere als Chuck am Freitag um 8 im Herbst würde mich extrem überraschen...

"Chuck" am Freitag ist für mich die einzige halbwegs nachvollziehbare Möglichkeit, also zeigen sie es wieder montags um 8.

Ob es gut für NBC ist, ist mir egal. Es ist gut für mich, da ich nach wievor Chuck liebe und hoffe, sie machen Season 5 auf 24 Episoden, damit sie zum Abschluss auf 100 Folgen kommen...

Ich will irgendwann auch mal wieder eine gute Serie und nicht nur Solala gucken und deshalb ist es eben nicht egal.
