Shawn Ryan hat zumindest zuletzt 2x bewiesen, dass er die Fans nicht hängen lässt. Bei Last Resort bin ich sogar ganz dankbar, dass die Serie nicht alt wird, weil die Prämisse für eine Miniserie besser funktioniert.

Chevy Chase Leaving NBC’s ‘Community’

Pierce Hawthorne is dropping out of Greendale Community College. After a tumultuous three-and-a-half year relationship, Chevy Chase and the producers of NBC’s cult comedy Community are parting ways by mutual agreement. Chase’s departure from the show is effective immediately. The bulk of Community‘s 13-episode fourth-season order have been filmed. Chase won’t appear in the 1 or 2 episodes that have not been shot yet.

The news of Chase’s exit from the Sony TV-produced Community hardly comes as a surprise. His return to the comedy series for Season 4 was somewhat surprising as he hinted multiple times last spring that he might leave. He has been vocal about his displeasure with the Community gig, telling The Huffington Post UK in an interview this fall, “It was a big mistake! I just sort of hung around because I have three daughters and a wife, and I figured out I might as well make some bread, every week, so I can take care of them in the way they want … The hours are hideous, and it’s still a sitcom on television, which is probably the lowest form of television.”

Then there was Chase’s public feud with show’s creator/former showrunner Dan Harmon last year, which escalated into a profanity-laced message Chase left on Harmon’s voice mail. (Harmon left the series after the end of last season.) There also have been on-set outbursts that have become a distraction for the rest of the cast and crew. They included a tirade last month, in which Chase used the N-Word. The rant was reportedly prompted by lines of dialogue he found offensive. According to people close to the actor, Chase had been increasingly frustrated and uncomfortable with the direction of his character, Pierce, who is a bigot, and had felt that the Pierce had run his course.

Chase’s departure likely won’t have as big of an impact on Community as Harmon’s exit because Pierce is a supporting character in an ensemble led by Joel McHale that has a number of standouts. The show recently got a February 7 Season 4 premiere date and is set to return to its regular Thursday 8 PM time slot. With a February start, Community is unlikely to go beyond the 13 ordered episodes this season. Chase will be in most of them, so his departure will be felt more acutely if the series gets a fifth season renewal.

Wieso schreibt ihr in Spoiler-Tags? Community ist jetzt nicht wirklich die Show, wo so ein Abgang storymäßig stark ins Gewicht fallen wird.

In Staffel 4 wird Chevys Abgang ja jetzt keine große Rolle spielen, da sie das Finale schon abgedreht haben und er nur in 2 Folgen zwischendurch fehlen wird. Frag mich aber auch, warum man ihn sofort entlässt. Die letzten zwei Folgen hätte er durchaus nochd drehen können. Schade, dass er so die Serie verlässt. Sollte es eine fünfte Staffel geben, dann wird es sicherlich keinen richtigen Abgang für ihn geben. Den hätte Pierce doch verdient gehabt, so überflüssig sein Charakter in der letzten Staffel auch wurde.

Aber NBC hätte die Sache echt besser mediatieren können. Zwei Streithähne und jetzt sind einfach beide weg, anstatt dass sie gleich Chase kicken und sich damit die ganze Harmon Kontroverse sparen? Aber gut, Greenblatt tut eh alles um Community loszuwerden.

Blöd für den Dallas Reboot, ich nehme an Hagman war eine der wichtigsten Zugkräfte der Serie. Muss sagen dass mein ohnehin geringes Interesse an der Serie damit wohl in die Spähre gefallen ist, wo es nur eine sehr kleine Chance gibt dass ich sie jemals schauen werde.

Larry Hagman, who died Friday at age 81 from cancer complications, was in Dallas filming season 2 of TNT’s Dallas. He had completed shooting a number of episodes, believed to be six, before his death, and will appear in the 15-episode season two of the series, slated to premiere Jan. 28. As of now, things are fluid and it is unclear how his passing will affect the production on the show, which was scheduled to resume following the Thanksgiving break. Extending the hiatus or scheduling one in the near future is a possibility so the writers can rework the scripts for the remaining episodes without Hagman and, more importantly, create a proper sendoff for J.R.. The larger-than-life character was already at the heart of one of the most famous episodes of television as the November 1980 Dallas episode that resolved the series’ “Who shot J.R.?” cliffhanger remains the second most watched telecasts of all time. J.R.’s farewell episode on the new Dallas will likely attract legions of fans of the iconic character.

Erster Trailer für NBCs Deception - das neue Revenge?

In der Beschreibung bei den Upfronts hörte sich das damals schon so an. Ich schau sicher mal rein, vom Trailer allein kann man ja eh nicht viel rauslesen. Bei Victor Garber und Tate Donovan hatte ich eben ein kleines déjà-vu, weil ich gestern grad erst ARGO im Kino gesehen habe...

Der Trailer ist schon viiiel besser als der Upfronts-Clip, und der Name ist auch besser. Ich bezweifle auch, dass es erfolgreich sein wird, aber freue mich trotzdem mal drauf :oops:
