Grazer wouldn't give a concrete yea or nay on whether Mortensen or Bardem are the potential Roland -- when we asked if he'd talked to the two actors about the part, he simply laughed and responded, "Sure." Grazer did say, however, that a casting announcement is imminent. How imminent? "Within a week," he said. Seriously? "Seriously. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seriously," he assured us before asking, "Who do you want?" Honestly, we'll take either of them. "OK, great," Grazer concluded. We couldn't agree more.

When we spoke to Howard during the press day for his comedy "The Dilemma," he talked a bit about his plans for "The Dark Tower" series and how involved he will be. "Right now what we're talking about is a movie and six or eight hours of television to bridge. My plan is to do most of those TV hours, if not all, and certainly the movies." And, in case you thought the roles of the main characters would be recast for the TV series, Howard confirmed that the actors from the films will indeed reprise their roles on the small screen.

Fox's proposed Bones spinoff is starting to take shape with the first casting. And it's a big one... literally. Michael Clarke Duncan has been tapped to co-star in the project, which will be introduced in Episode 19 this season. The spinoff, based on The Locator books written by Richard Greener, centers on Walter Sherman aka "the Locator" (the role is still being cast), a former military policeman who can find anything. Duncan will play Walter's partner Leo, a tough, raw-hide cowboy philosopher. This marks the first regular TV gig for Duncan, repped by APA and Industry, who best known for his Oscar-nominated role in The Green Mile.
Werde ich trotzdem nicht schauen.

USA will debut two new shows this year, including a legal drama from Bourne trilogy producer Doug Liman.
The network has given series orders to A Legal Mind starring Gabriel Macht (Love and Other Drugs) and Patrick J. Adams (Lost) and Necessary Roughness starring Callie Thorne (Rescue Me).
Legal Mind (Universal Cable Productions) is about a top Manhattan corporate lawyer (Macht) who hires a street-smart college dropout (Adams) to team on legal cases — even though only one of them has a law degree. Mind is created by Aaron Korsh (The Deep End); Gene Klein (Covert Affairs) is producer and Liman is exec producer.
“Legal Mind comes from an edgier place than we have in the past,” notes Jeff Wachtel, president of programming at USA.
Necessary Roughness (Sony Pictures TV and Universal Cable Productions) is about a Long Island divorcee (Throne) who gets a job as a therapist for a pro football team and soon finds herself landing all sorts of high-profile clients. It’s from writer-producers Liz Kruger and Craig Shaprio (Miami Medical).
“It’s in some ways a more purely emotional show,” Wachtel says. “There are no bombs and bullets.”
The duo have quite a reputation to live up to. USA has enjoyed a ridiculously strong track record for launching new shows and is the top-rated cable network for five years running. Each of the new dramas will debut with a 90-minute premiere followed by 11 one-hour episodes. For those keeping count, USA now has 10 original dramas.
