Absolutely. I told my agent and told the people of J.J. Abrams team I want to create another STAR TREK series and have an idea that I’m kicking around. I would love to return to the spirit of the old series with the colors and attitude. I loved VOYAGER and DEEP SPACE NINE, but they seem to have lost the ‘60s fun and I would love to take it back to its origin.
I would love to do another ‘Star Trek’ series. One where you could go back to the spirit and color of the original ‘Star Trek,’ because somehow, it got cold over the years.I love ‘Next Generation,’ but it’s a little cooler and calmer than the ones from the ‘60s, which were so dynamic and passionate.
’Deep Space Nine’ was the best of the modern ones, because it was so emotionally complicated. ‘Enterprise’ was the most sterile of all of them, when it should have been the most fun.
“’Star Trek’ has to recreate itself,” Fuller said. “Otherwise, all the characters start to feel the same. You always have a captain, a doctor, a security officer, and you have the same arguments based on those perspectives. It starts to feel too familiar. So all those paradigms where it takes place on a starship have to be shaken up.”[/quote]
...
Yeah, I think let that be the movies and let that be their story. I would love to do something on the Reliant. I want Angela Lansbury…Not Lansbury! I want Angela Bassett to be the captain, that’s who I would love to have, you know Captain Angela Bassett and First Officer Rosario Dawson. I would love to do that version of the show and but that’s in the future to be told.

The "Star Trek" universe is such a fertile place to tell stories. There were lots of new and innovative things going on during "Deep Space Nine" and that's why it's my favorite of the new series. It was much more character-based.
For me it goes original series, then "Deep Space Nine," then "Next Generation," and then "Voyager." There are elements of "Voyager" that I loved, though. I think it hit its creative stride with Seven of Nine and the relationship with Janeway. I found it much more interesting than any other captain/crew relationship, including Kirk and Spock. Kirk and Spock have a great dynamic and I want to see them have adventures, but if you want to see me captivated and want me to continue watching as you pull back the layers of the onion then I think that Seven of Nine and Janeway's relationship was much more complicated.
BF: I completely agree. I loved Kirk and Spock. I love Picard and Data, even though they were just a variation on Kirk and Spock. And there was no iconic relationships on "Deep Space Nine" because all the characters were so strong, no two people really stood out.
....
The writer, who penned numerous Voyager episodes, including 'Barge of the Dead,' 'Mortal Coil' and 'Friendship One,' cited season four's 'Prey' as one of the best examples of the energy in the Janeway/Seven relationship. "Seven was always disobeying orders to do what she felt was best for any given situation. She couldn't care less about diplomacy or the prime directive, and that made her the perfect foil for Janeway."
Fuller also said he believes the show's best installments centred around the characters who came to be Voyager's 'big three' - Janeway, Seven, and the Doctor. "I think the show's ultimate legacy would be the uneasy relationship between Janeway and Seven of Nine and The Doctor. The best episodes of the series always somehow revolved around one of those three characters."
While some fans have criticised Janeway's characterisation, Fuller said the captain's flaws prevented her from becoming a flat one-note character. "I think Janeway's uneven and erratic characterization is what made her real. People are not even-tempered. People are not always stable, especially when they're cut off from the chain of command. Kate Mulgrew gave Janeway a sense of danger and unpredictability. I loved that about her. You never knew when this lady was going to go ballistic on your ass so you better not screw with her and that's that. She was a loose cannon and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think it's unfortunate that fans missed out on one of the most interesting attributes of her character and felt it was a flaw."
Make it so!
