Habe zwar noch außer "New Girl" keinen Network-Piloten bislang gesehen, aber im Pilot-Thread macht mich nicht wirklich eine Serie an, von wenigen Beispielen mal abgesehen.
Mein am sehnlichsten erwarteter Pilot ist aber definitv "Awake"; weiß jemand zufälligerweise, wann das startet? :|

Awake sollte eigentlich erst in der Midseason auf NBC starten. Außer sie können das Programm nicht mehr füllen, dann könnte es früher kommen. :lol: Aber ich glaub es nicht.

Ich habe meine Hoffnungen auch auf Awake und Alcatraz gerichtet, mit Abstrichen auch noch Touch. Bei Awake gehe ich aber schon jetzt von einem Flop aus.

‘Chuck’, ‘Grimm’ Premieres Pushed By Week

The final season of NBC’s Chuck and the first of the network’s new drama Grimm will start a week later than originally announced. NBC said today that the two series will now launch on Oct. 28 as part of a two-night Halloween block that will start off on Thursday, Oct. 27, with Halloween-themed episodes of the network’s comedies – Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office and Whitney.

Merkwürdiger Zug. Bei einer Serie die schwach gestartet ist, aber sich einigermaßen halten kann okay, aber 1.3 und 1.0 im freiem Fall? Keine Chance! Aber die Attitüde find ich grundsätzlich sehr lobenswert, wenn das in den nächsten Season mitgetragen wird, könnte vielleicht ja mal eine gute Genreserie davon profitieren.

Man muss aber auch sagen, dass NBC nichts anderes übrig bleibt. Ihr ganzes Programm läuft schwach und es ist ja auch nicht garantiert, dass das Ersatzprogramm besser laufen würde. Eine Back9 halte ich für Playboy Club und Free Agents aber unrealistisch. Die Macher vom Playboy Club sollten so realistisch sein und die dreizehnte Folge als Serien-Finale planen.

Cancel The Playboy Club!

NBC’s The Playboy Club promotes pornography and a world-view that encourages the exploitation of women. Feminists and family advocates alike have condemned the show. Critics have trashed it. And, for the second week in a row, viewers have avoided it. This past Monday, the program’s second episode ratings plunged a further 19%…after the show finished dead last in its FIRST week!

The message from America is clear: NBC should cancel The Playboy Club immediately. Doing so would not only be good for our nation’s women and girls …it would be good business.

The Parents Television Council® is calling for the immediate cancellation of “The Playboy Club” on NBC following the second episode in the new season, which drew even more abysmal ratings than the premiere. PTC is also asking members to contact Capital One, Samsung, and keep the pressure on Chrysler until they cease sponsorship of a broadcast television program that is mainstreaming the pornography industry.

Before the first episode, PTC issued a letter to potential advertisers asking them not to support television programming that objectifies and degrades women. PTC then continued aggressive advertiser outreach efforts following the premiere. Seven of the sponsors featured in the first episode did not reappear in this week’s episode and communications have begun with those companies that sponsored the second episode.

“What has been clear to everyone outside of NBC must now be clear even to those inside NBC: ‘The Playboy Club’ is a commercial disaster and must be removed from the airwaves. We call for the network to cancel this degrading and sexualizing program immediately,” said PTC President Tim Winter.

“As a licensee of the public airwaves, NBC has breached the public trust by airing what amounts to a weekly advertisement for a pornographic brand. As demonstrated by the Nielsen ratings for ‘The Playboy Club’ the past two weeks, any further airing of the show not only pushes an anti-family agenda, but is a profoundly bad business decision.

“Until the program is removed from the public airwaves, PTC will be calling on its members and other concerned citizens to contact the sponsors. Today, we ask Capital One, Chrysler and Samsung if their corporate values are in step with those of the Playboy brand,” Winter concluded.


Networks Pushing the Envelope with Extreme Content

The PTC keeps up an incessant drumbeat about the need for a broadcast decency law…and this fall TV season shows why. Most fall broadcast network programs debuted just last week; and already, families have been assaulted with new levels of explicit content. The September 21st premiere of Fox’s The X Factor featured an extended sequence in which contestant Geo Godley dropped his pants and appeared to expose himself. As PTC President Tim Winter noted, “If Godley performed his act in public, he would have been arrested. But if he performs it in front of a Fox camera, his act is beamed via the public airwaves into every home in the nation.” This event was made even more disturbing by the fact that Fox has deliberately promoted The X Factor as a singing competition, appealing to the same family audiences which made American Idol a hit. How many families tuned in expecting singing and fun banter between Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell, only to have their children exposed to blatant nudity?

But Fox is not the only network “upping the ante.” Two new situation comedies -- NBC’s Whitney and CBS’ 2 Broke Girls (both co-created by stand-up comedienne Whitney Cummings, famed for her appearances on Comedy Central’s raunchy Roasts) – plumbed new depths in explicit sex talk and language, with characters on both programs using the word “vagina” repeatedly. In addition, the September 19th premiere of the CBS sex-obsessed series Two and a Half Men featured nudity for the first time in its eight-year run.

Individually, any one of these instances might not seem significant. But taken together, they demonstrate conclusively how the networks are deliberately pushing more and more explicit content into every living room. They also demonstrate the vital importance of a law enforcing standards of decency on the public airwaves. The U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear the networks’ arguments in favor of abolishing the broadcast decency law this fall. If the networks and their army of paid legal experts succeed, what will television be like NEXT fall?

Netflix And Showtime Eye Potential New ‘Arrested Development’ Limited Series

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurtwitz dropped another bombshell today, telling a panel at The New Yorker Festival that he plans to bring the Emmy-winning series back to television for a limited 9-10 episode run before proceeding with the long-gestating Arrested Development movie. He didn’t specify where the potential series would air as it doesn’t necessarily have to run on Fox, which carried the mothership series. I have learned that 20th Century Fox TV, which co-produced Arrested Development with Imagine TV, has had talks with Netflix, which has been on the hunt for original programming, and Showtime, whose new entertainment president David Nevins shepherded Arrested Development when he ran Imagine TV. 20th TV declined comment.

According to attendees at the panel, where Hurwitz was joined by series stars Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, Tony Hale, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter, Hurwitz laid out his plan to have each installment focus on a different member of the Bluth clan. Bateman later weighed in on the announcement on Twitter. “It’s true,” he wrote. “We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!” That would mean launching the follow-up limited series on the 10th anniversary of the original, which premiered in 2003.

Die sind aber trotzdem alle gut im Geschäft, insbesondere Michael Cera mit seinen "very special Michael Cera"-Kinofilmrollen.

Wenn es wirklich zu einer Arrested Development-Mini-Serie kommt, dann wäre es vermutlich das erste Mal, dass eine quotenschwache Kultserie 10 Jahre nach der Absetzung nochmal wiederbelebt wird. Das würde ich mir dann für mehrere andere Serien auch wünschen (HBO, bitte gib mir Carnivale wieder )

Dead Like Me kam ein paar Jahre nach der Absetzung für einen grottigen DVD-Film zurück, aber das ist das einzige Beispiel, das mir einfällt.

Besonders gut im Geschäft ist eigentlich nur Jason Bateman, Michael Cera und Will Arnett sind im gut im Geschäft, Portia de Rossi macht nach dem Ende von Better Of Ted gar nichts mehr und alle anderen "stolpern" von Gastauftritt zu Gastauftritt, die wären sicherlich froh über eine "Festanstellung".

Aber auch der einzige, der mir einfallen würde .. beim Rest sinds wirklich immer reboots oder Filme. Wobei - wenn man ehrlich ist, wird es sich hier ja auch eher um Filmpromotion handeln.. wobei ich mich frage, was das bringen soll.. 10 Netflix Folgen werden jetzt auch nicht groß die Werbetrommel rühren :?

The Simpsons under threat as Fox demands 45% pay cut for cast

The future of animated TV comedy The Simpsons is up in the air after 20th Century Fox Television said it could no longer afford to produce the show without a huge pay cut for its cast.

Fox Television, a unit of News Corp., issued a tough statement after a report that it had threatened to end the subversive series unless the voice actors take a 45 per cent pay cut.

"We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model," Fox said.

"We are hopeful that we can reach an agreement with the voice cast that allows The Simpsons to go on entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come," the statement added.

The Simpsons is the longest-running comedy series on US television and is currently in its 23rd season on Fox. The show also generates billions of dollars through global syndication, as well as DVD and merchandise sales.

The Fox statement followed a report on news website The Daily Beast that the principal voice cast members - including the voices for Homer (Dan Castellaneta), Marge (Julie Kavner), Bart (Nancy Cartwright) and Lisa (Yeardley Smith) - were having difficulty renegotiating contracts that currently see them earning around $US8 million ($8.35 million) each per season.

The Daily Beast, quoting an unnamed insider, said the cast had tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a 30 per cent pay cut in return for a portion of the show's profits. Fox did not dispute the report.

Staple of modern culture

The Simpsons is broadcast in more than 100 countries and 50 languages and has become a staple of American culture, with the cartoon family earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

TV industry sources said producers had enough episodes to keep the comedy on the air until the end of the 2011-12 TV season in May.

But the sources said the dispute would need to be settled by December 2011, so that writers would be able to work on either the season finale, or the series finale, depending on the outcome of contract talks.

Other members of the cast and crew are also being asked to take pay cuts, according to the sources.

News Corp. executives have said in recent weeks they were looking at ways to make more money from the show in the future, both in syndication rights and other areas.

News Corp. COO Case Carey told an investors conference on September 14 that executives had had a number of meetings in the past six months "to look at opportunities from A to Z".

"But I think you can imagine, whether it's channel, digital, ourselves, third parties, it's a series unique in television, with a volume to it that is unprecedented," Mr Carey said, declining to give details.

He later jokingly brushed off a suggestion that a Simpson TV Channel might be underway.

"(It) is a franchise that you can do a lot of things with. And I think we'll continue to evaluate what those are. But - and I wouldn't say we have in the drawing plans a Simpson Channel, although there's a lot of Simpson fans out there," Mr Carey told financial analysts on September 21.

Kann mir eigentlich nicht vorstellen, dass man die Serie nicht verlängert... aber wenn es jetzt schon so große Einsparungen geben muss, wird es wohl nicht mehr lang dauern, bis es zu Ende ist. Bei der sinkenden Qualität wäre das wohl auch gar nicht so schlecht.

Meine Güte .. hast du die Simpsons in den letzten Jahren überhaupt mal gesehen? Immer dieses alte Horn, in das jeder reinbläst, weils die anderen sagen..

In den letzten Jahren ist die Qualität wieder stark angestiegen.. und nein, FOX stellt die Simspons sicher nicht ein.. das sind doch nur typische Verhandlungen
