J.J. Abrams has another project in works for fall: CBS just greenlit his pilot Person of Interest, an hour-long drama being developed by Abrams and Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan (as in, brother of Christopher).

Though details are, naturally for any Abrams project, tough to come by, we’ve finally found this official one for Person of Interest: An ex-CIA hitman and a scientist team up to prevent crimes before they happen. Huh…

CBS has handed a pilot order to Jonathan Nolan's CIA drama Person of Interest, which is being executive produced by J.J. Abrams.

The project, from Warner Bros. TV and Abrams' Bad Robot, is a crime drama centered on a CIA agent, presumed dead, who is recruited by a reclusive billionaire to wage war against violent criminals in New York City. Nolan, who shared a writing Oscar nomination with his brother Christopher for Memento, is executive producing with Abrams and Burk. This marks the TV debut for Nolan. Person of Interest is the second pilot order for Bad Robot this year, following the early pickup for Alcatraz at Fox.

As an executive producer on the U.S. version of his British series The Office, Ricky Gervais has a say in what happens on the show. If it things go his way, Arrested Development star Will Arnett would be joining the NBC comedy after original star Steve Carell leaves later this season. "Had a little meeting with NBC about various things and recommended Will Arnett for a regular in The Office," Gervais wrote on his blog today. "I think he's amazing."
btw. Olyphant hätte ruhig öfter auftauchen dürfen.

Fox has handed a late pilot order to Weekend at Bellevue, a medical drama from former ER writer-producer Lisa Zwerling and BermanBraun. The project, centered on a psychiatrist in charge of the weekend shift of Bellevue Hospital psychiatric unit, was originally set up at NBC and UMS earlier this season. After the network recently passed on the script, it was taken to Fox. Weekend at Bellevue is based on Dr. Julie Holland's memoir about her nine-year stint as the weekend physician in charge of the psychiatric emergency room at the oldest public hospital in the United States whose name has become synonymous with insanity. Zwerling, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein are executive producing.
Lost veteran Henry Ian Cusick is returning to ABC with a lead role on the network's untitled Shonda Rhimes pilot. Katie Lowes (CW's Easy Money) has also joined the project, which revolves around the life and work of professional fixer Olivia Price (Kerry Washington) and her dysfunctional staff. Innovative-repped Cusick will play what is considered by some the male lead on the show, a handsome, intense and brilliant litigator who works for Olivia. Cusick started off as a recurring on Lost, landing a guest starring Emmy nomination for his role as former Scottish solder Desmond Hume, before getting promoted to regular in Season 3 of the island drama. Lowes, repped by Innovative and Sweeney Management, will play an ambitious and naive young lawyer recruited by Olivia to work for her. Lowes guest starred in this season's opener of Rhimes' Private Practice.

Michelle Pfeiffer. ...
